Munganyende Hélène Christelle is a political scientist and writer. She has lived 26 eventful years between Kigali, Eindhoven and Brussels. As a self-proclaimed Beyoncéologist, she regularly analyzes the link between politics and millennial culture.
Her work has appeared in VOGUE, De Correspondent and de Volkskrant. With her prose she was selected in 2017 for the writing residence of house De Buren in Paris. A selection for the Slow Writing Lab of the Dutch Foundation for Literature followed in 2018. Her work was recorded in BLACK: an anthology with up-and-coming African literary talent from the Benelux. Munganyende is currently based in Brussels, where she is working on her debut novel. In her writing she explores the space between displacement and coming home.
