MULTIDISCIPLINARY ARTIST & SONGWRITER

Latanya Alberto

Latanya Alberto is a multidisciplinary performing artist, singer and songwriter. Having had music in her life from an early age, Latanya began her professional career in 2018 as an independent artist at the age of 19.

Latanya creates music primarily within the genres of Neo-soul and Jazz, but extends to various influences from different genres. Her lyrics and messages represent social matters like, social injustice, feminism, racism and mental health. She is rooted in expressing herself through different forms of art and is determined to stay in charge in the process of all of them.

Important characteristics about her music and art are her signature hairstyles, her recognizable statement and sculptural aesthetic and intellectual underlying messaging. Her goals are to expand herself as a multidisciplinary artist internationally and to pave ways for change and remove social barriers through art.

In 2022 she released her most recent EP called 'Home'. At this point she earned the respect of artists like Robert Glasper and Masego. Previous projects fired off many new collaborations with artists like Ta-ku, Full Crate and JAEL, The Dutch ‘Notenkraker’ award nomination, and more opportunities as people started to recognise a noise and headstrong sound.

One of which is a new collaboration with her band that gives opportunity to do what she likes most; performing live on stage.

Latanya opened up for John Legend, in the Ahoy Arena, during North Sea Jazz (2022), Played Eurosonic (2023), performed on the COLORS platform twice, toured in India, performed several times with the Metropole Orchestra, played North Sea Jazz (2023) and played headline shows throughout the Netherlands, the UK, Germany and Belgium.
